Thread Guides and Spool Pins

Most machines will work much better if the thread path is clear and complete. And I am amazed at how many machines have no spool pin (that's the bit that sticks up on top and holds the cotton reel...)
Singer spool pins come in two sorts - with and without screw threads. Look in the hole to see which sort, as they are not type-specific.. Most are bang-in types, and require a gentle hammer; unless they screw in, in which case they don't...
