Attach to the bed of the machine to set the edge of the seam, usually with a screw.. The screw-holes fill with grot - if not working, oil and clean.. (I use an oily match-stick or one of those tiny toothbrushes)A Note. I have a big tin of these, and have almost always found one or two in every machine I have taken apart or handled. Until the winter of 2011/2012 I had never really looked at these. There is an astonishing variety. At some point I plan to make a whole page with all the others I have photographed from sets and in passing.. Perhaps that way lies madness...
